New England Patriots @ Houston Texans Preview

Josh Capps (@JCapps_) believes that the Texans will give the Patriots a real test on Sunday Night Football

Tom Brady and the Patriots travel to Houston on Sunday evening to face a Houston team with a Quarterback who they know can cause them problems. Watson has 20 touchdowns so far this season and just seven interceptions, averaging over 263 yards per game.

The Texans will look to find space for DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller who have both been key all year, alongside Watson’s ability to pick a pass both inside and outside of the pocket. The running game with Hyde and a mobile quarterback will hopefully be more positive for Head coach O’Brien who will be looking to finally get a victory over his old coach (0-4 since 2014).

The Patriots will hope to improve their offence which has struggled to get going in recent weeks. Sony Michel ran for 85 yards on 20 carries in week 12, and the Patriots will hope they can find pockets of field for Michel to carry on penetrating and force the Patriots up the field. With recent struggles, Michel and Edelman look like the pair Brady will want to work with to change the recent lack of points and convincing victories.

Weather won’t be an issue this week for New England, and if they want to take victory they will be looking to keep Watson off the field as long as possible, taking full advantage when they are on it themselves.

Ones to Watch:
Houston Texans – DeAndre Hopkins: The go to man when looking for a touchdown whether it be a short or long down. Expect Watson to use Hopkins a lot.
New England Patriots – Julian Edelman: With the lack of catching ability this year, Brady likes to utilise Edelman’s ability throughout the game and expect this again this Sunday.

Score Prediction: Houston 20 New England 23
