NFL Power Rankings Week 9: Derek Carr And The Raiders Into The Top 10

The International Series went out with a bit of a whimper. The Chiefs destroyed the Lions in the third and final London game of the season.

I didn’t think I would see a performance as bad as the Dolphins vs the Jets again but Detroit may have passed that. Who needs Jamaal Charles when a defence can make Alex Smith look just like him?

The NFL has announced a deal to host at least three games at Twickenham over the next three years. Hopefully this means more games next season and in the future.

The big result of last week has to be the Broncos dominant win over the Packers. The incredible defence managed to hold Aaron Rodgers to just 77 yards passing and Peyton Manning looked a lot more like the Manning we know. As I wrote last week, I really wasn’t expecting this.

I had almost dismissed the Broncos as contenders this year despite their record. This performance shows that they are right in the mix.

It doesn’t get much easier for the Packers this week as they travel to Carolina to face the unbeaten Panthers. They will need a win if they want to end the season with the NFC’s #1 seed.

This week’s rankings see a few big moves. The Saints and Chiefs are the biggest risers. Perhaps the most significant move is that of the Raiders who make it into the top 10 for the first time this season.
